1996 model with 2TEK bridge. EMGs. Spalted maple. Clear punchy tone. Think I got a good deal. I will evaluate to see if I can stand the little extra weight as opposed to the Lakland. More photos and review later. I need some Dave Matthews Band CDs to play to!!:)

  7. So you snagged it--all right! That's a sweet looking bass, and a killer deal. I'm just trying to imagine the ridiculous sustain and harmonics with a Q5 AND a 2Tek...

The sustain is substantial. It's almost like electricity is flowing though the strings. I also like the feel of the neck, especially after I cleaned the grime off.

Rick.. Download the song "The Stone" from the Listener Supported Album.. Listen to that song all the way through, and you will hear how smooth and amazing that Quantum sounds. I have the Tab for it if you need it. Let me know what you think.
    And Congrats on the bass.

Great looking bass Rick! And a great deal too! I recently put a Moses graphite neck on my Warmoth 5-string Jazz bass body and was amazed at the difference it made. I'm sure that you'll find the Modulus graphite neck provides a nice alternative to your Lakland.:)
I've heard great things about the 2-TEK bridges also! Congratulations!

Outstanding! I think that's the first time I ever saw a Modulus with a spalted body. Cool.

I had no idea how powerful these basses are! THUNDEROUS. The 2Tek probably has a thing or two to do with it too. I thought the Lakland had gain. Clarity and sustain are the words to describe the sound. I am now understanding why some of you swear by these basses.
