Sparkly NBD alert: My first StingRay ever

Picked up one of these from Sweetwater several weeks ago. Never owned a StingRay before in my life. Boy... have I been missing out.

Quick pampering at the spa, and off to rattling some booties

 

Thanks man. I’m quite impressed with these basses, I have to say. I pretty much always ignored MusicMan as a company up until very recently when they revamped the StingRays.
B string is definitely no slacker on this.

I agree, the switch selector on the HH’s is a blast to have. Each configuration sounds distinctly different.

 

I was exactly that person. Just wrote them off for years. Primarily because of how abundant they are at GC and the few I tried off the wall were just atrocious.
Getting a fresh one and setting it up appropriately is really a great experience so far.

2 weeks isn’t an awful long time wait, you didn’t prefer to wait for the burst? Either way you can never go wrong with black

I’m still eating my heart out they haven’t offered it in 5 string configuration but the aqua sparkle isn’t lagging too far behind

Just gotta add one of those discontinued Cutlass P basses and you should be good to go. Those look super cool!

With the abundance of these basses everywhere, TB is practically a MM dealer at this point Getting a “as new” Stingray Special for $1500-1600 is an absolute steal.

Was referring to the sparkly pink one he got. I was in the market right when they released that BFR model, but only as a 4 string. I was set on a sparkle finish and was gonna get the Aqua Sparkle regardless, but seeing that sparkle pink Ray being offered only as 4 string right before I was about to pull the trigger was a huge heartache
