Speaker Cab Impedance Question (or he we go again.....)

    Okay....I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer. I have 1 4 ohm 4x10 SVT cab, and I have 1 8 ohm Hartke 4x10 XL cab ( I decided to keep using it, as it sounds good) is it possible to daisy chain them together, or am I asking for big problems..... I'm planning on using them w/ a GK 400RBIV head.

    As long as your amp can handle a 2 ohm load, it will work (however, I don't believe your head is stable below 4 ohms - so it's a non-starter).

    If you were to use them together, the 4 ohm cab would get 2/3 of your power, and the 8 ohm cab would get 1/3.

    Don't do it. You will smoke the G-K with the two cabs together. One 4 ohm cab or two 8 ohm cabs, you can't run the 4 ohm and 8 ohm at the same time.
