i just bought a used ashdown abm 300 ( :D ) which i am tremendously psyched about. i A/B tested against my ampeg svt 3 pro and there is really no comparison... the ashdown KICKS BUTT.

my only concern. the ashdown is an older model (1999?) and has not but 1/4 inch outs. i've been using speakon to bananna with the ampeg. i am nervous using 1/4 inch cables.

the simplest solution that i see is to get a 1/4 inch to banana cable... so at least i have a solid connection on one end.

but i'm wondering... anyone have any better ideas?

I understand why you're nervous - 1/4" aren't the best for speaker connectors. Maybe you could buy a speakon connector and replace the 1/4" with it, or have a technician do it for you. Binding posts would be another option if there isn't room for the speakon.
There are only 2 wires to solder - not too complicated!
    Good luck.
