speaker cable questions

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by McCalister999, Jan 24, 2006.

  1. Maybe this isn't the right place, for this I just got my first head and cab and I have no idea what kind of cable I need to use. Is particular to each amp, or is there a general cable that works for "any"? Any help is greatly appreciated :D

You need a speaker cable with the correct connectors at each end. The common options are banana plug pairs, 1/4" mono plug, and Speakon Plug.

Just get a cable with one end to match the output on your amp, and the other to match the input on your cab. Since you didn't say what amp or what cab i have no idea what it is that you actually need.

  3. I have a Peavey Mark VI and an Avater 210

Also, use the heaviest guage speaker cable you can find and keep it as short as possible. And always carry a spare.
