    Here's the deal -

    I currently play a GK 700rb ii through a GK SBX II 15" (400w @ 8ohm) and Markbass 2x10 (400 @ 8 ohm).

My GK speaker coil is burned and I will either:
    1. Replace the speaker for $170
    2. Buy my friend's Markbass 15" cab (300w @ 8 ohm) for $200

Does the fact that the 15" Markbass cab @ 300w is paired with my other MB 2x10 @ 400w?

The head is rated at 480w I believe.

    Any advice is welcome!

Add An Adjustable HPF to your buy list.

It'll help prevent the voice coil weeny roast next time. Check out the HPF Mega thread.

Is the replacement speaker the same as the original?

Please proofread/edit so's we can know what you are asking...
  4. If the replacement driver is sourced from GK and is the correct driver for your box then that is the way I would go.

Adding a HPF will give you a bit of protection.

Does the split power to two different rated cabs create a problem? —> 480w head going to 1x15 @ 300w and 2x10 @ 400.

Not in and of itself. I'd personally not want to power that stack much over 300w, especially without a HPF. But smoke 'em if yah got 'em :D.
