Speaker frequency range

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by superbassman2000, May 20, 2004.

  1. I need to know the frequency range of the speaker for my behringer BX1200. My dad and i were looking around at speakers and we saw (don't laugh) a subwoofer (for a car system) and that me thinking...what if i put a sub in the bx1200? thats why i'm asking the difference between bass speakers and subwoofers for cars, specifically the frequency range.
Otherwise, what speaker do you suggest for a behringer BX1200?

    Thanks,
    Charlie

  2. Id strongly reccomend against the subwoofer plan as the car subwoofers are less efficient and have less range than a bass guitar speaker. Your existing speaker, im presuming is a 12" cone by the model number will respond roughly from 50-60 hz to about 5 khz. Id personally look at something like an eminence delta or a celestion K12B series. The car subwoofer will respond down probably to 30 hz but only go up to around 1khz and will sound muddy and harsh.
