Im curious as to if there is a calculator of some sort that can take into account string diameter, note you wish to tune too, and calculate an optimal speaking length for a string at about 60% of breaking tension when tuned?

Does this vary? Is there simply a chart or calc that can even do it or does it depend on who you speak too about it?

(not sure if this is the right forum, feel free to move it if another one seems better)

First you'll need to know the tensile strength of your string, and then the mass per a unit of length.
