my behringer bx3000 and the avatar 4x10 i'm going to get both have speakon connectors. what exactly does that mean, that is to say, what are they? this will be my first rig (in that past i've only used combo amps), so you must excuse my lack of equitment literacy. thanks.

This means that the speaker output doesn't have phone jacks, but Speakon jacks (made by Neutrik www.neutrik.com )

So you need a new speaker cable or you have to exchange one plug on your cable for a speakon plug.
