Hello all, first post on this forum.Hope you guys can help me out. I`m running the Ampeg 3pro into the 410hlf.I have decided to not use the 1/4 " connectors anymore after having the lands in the jacks break from the vibration.I want to use the banana plug at the amp,and the speakon at the hlf. I can`t seem to find the correct wiring for the speakon . Can anybody let me know the pinout so I don`t have to pull the back plate off the cab? Thank you John
Normally, for full range cabs, not bridge config: 1+="+" 1-="-". This is for the Cab end. Open the connector and you will find these numbers and also, you will find 2+ and 2-. Dont mess with those 2+ & 2- for the configuration you are looking. The back of the cab will also have the pin layout in the label, if not removed. Can you explain more on the amp end, for the banana connector? As for my knowledge, the SVT3 do not have any banana connections. Hope this helps!
and must be the same, 1+=+ ans 1-=- on the amp if you use the speakon on the amp. I suggest use this set up, buy a speakon cable both ends
David-Thanks for the fast reply ! On my two 3pros there is a 1/4" and a banana jack only. There are no speakons.I believe there might be speakons on the newest models, but mine are mid `90 s. I`ve been getting nervous using the 1/4" on these because the jacks are soldered onto a pcb.I`ve had problems with the input jacks on both amps with the lands breaking and losing the input signal.Annoying, but not catastophic.I don`t want it to happen on the output side, though,so I`ll go with the hard wired banana plug, with the better and larger contact area. Thanks again, John
Hey,howya doin` ? I was looking to PM you but when the Ampeg site closed down I couldn`t access it to write ya,and I didn`t have your e-mail address.I just signed up here yesterday, seems like a friendly, helpful group of people. John
