On March 26th 2020, a build off challenge was issued here in the Luthiers Corner. The theme was “Build em if you got em”. This asks the builders to do whatever it takes to build a bass. It could be made from parts, it could be completing a stalled build, building something from scratch, or anything in between. A Free For All so to speak. I am pleased to announce that the builders have completed their tasks, and we are ready to start the voting Due to the large number entries in this build off we will be starting the first round of voting with elimination voting. Please be sure to vote in all 3 categories (see other threads) Special Edition Voting - Builds a Parts bass Special Edition Voting - New from Scratch Special Edition Voting - Finish that stalled build This vote will be for all instruments make from scratch Please review each of the builders pages listed in the links below. You have 3 votes to select your favorites. I think I have to be among the "parts" people, however it does not matter much, I will not perturbate any of the rankings .
I keep repeating myself, but these are so hard to choose. And that's just the 1st round? Great job everyone.
We usually do - this past Winter Build Off, I believe @Scoops started a chat where we agreed to only vote for others (as in not vote for our own), but I suspect the "penalty" will only be humiliation at the hands of other builders, so it may happen anyway here and there.
We could ignore any vote from the builder too since Scoops can see who voted for what and subtract one from the total if thats easy since voting has already started and you know, some people might have already done it. *ducks head and walks away quietly*
Haha, I wouldn't vote for myself, that's a little weird - although I can see how that might need to be said amongst a group of bass players
As far as builders voting, yes, they have a vote. There is nothing that stops a builder from voting for themselves, but it is highly suggested that the builder provide peer recognition. Translated, the builder should not vote for themselves. Cheers
Oops! Looks like this newby shoulda read a little deeper prior to voting... Ah, well. Let the public floggings begin ...goes back to his corner
Hard to vote, but I did pick the oneI would like the most to have at home. All those builds are amazing though
Now that I've gotten some rest, this has been a great experience. There's a lot of great builds and making voting choices is a bit of a challenge. I'm just glad to have been able to participate and get to know some people who like to build bass guitars. Learned and shared a lot. Congrats to everyone! Thanks to Scoops for your efforts. Hope to do this again and connect on other projects too!
