SPECTOR® Club - Part 77

Let's just pick a few of the guys to give a master class on 4 ridiculous licks that we can all learn to show off in music stores!!!! :hiding: :p :rollno:

I can't multiple-quote on my phone so I want to say thanks for the words of encouragement, understanding, and of relating. There is no better group of musicians than here in this club.

This quote stems from those comments and I think it's a great idea. I'd really like to see that happen. I think it would be beneficial especially for those of us that are just learning/starting or not as proficient as we would like to be, to learn from our brothers who are.

Though I have been a member of TB 13 years or so, a brother in this club for a few years, and playing on and off since high school, I don't play well.
That said, I DO know what I love in a bass AND what tone I love. I have the found the equipment that gives me that feel and sound in Spector and Trace Elliot Amplification.

Well, I looked into it and where I can get the time off (and a blessing from my wife) for the Spector hang, the plane tickets would cost about $1,600 (not including my bass) plus it'd be a 21 hour trip each way, with a stop in London and Chicago, plus motel room fees. So unless we start a kickstarter to raise half the cash it looks like I might be out :( I was super excited about it too. Did not expect the tickets to be that much!

The airlines & oil industry hose us every time. :(

That's great ICE, I have too give a ton of respect and love to my wife. She isn't always happy with the money leaving the Account, but she is about 90% supportive of everything. I think because I do it for youth ministries at church, I get a major pass. But I've forewarned her, that I WILL be making an order with Todd while we're down there.

It's my mid-life crisis outing......... Literally. I turn 40 on August 1st, 2014.

Hear that Todd & Carey? A BD cake is in order!

Well that's really cool of your wife. My wife is good about my bass orders as I use $$$$ from a special bass savings account from sale of basses and equipment, allowance(?). Helping our youth is a great ministry brother!

NBD for me!! Holy crap, this thing is awesome!! Loving it so far, and haven't even put my preferred strings on and done set up yet! Good day.

Hahaha:o I doubt that brother Trace. ;)

Did you receive your brass nut yet? Maybe I should rephrase that....brass string nut. :D

I did! Thank you!
I notice the spacing on my cherry burst NS-2A is closer than the brass nut you sent me. I placed it upside down on the strings and they don't sit in the slots.
Is there a difference in spacing between the 2A and a Kramer era NS-2 ?

This get together has nothing to do with how impressive of a player that you are. It's all about the love of the instruments and finally getting to put a face to everyone and just enjoying hanging and lots of bass discussion.

Got some exciting news for you all: Been on the phone a lot this week and today I can say without a doubt that PJ Rubal, from Spector, will be in attendance at our Spector Hang 2014. He is very excited about the opportunity to finally get to interact with all of you guys. This will not be an event you won't want to miss. Not like you would have wanted to miss it before, just the cherry on top. :D

 This is going to be a freakin' blast! :bassist:

I also agree that it's about the basses and the community! ...player level/experience doesn't matter at all!

+100% to both of these! Besides, I've already embarrassed myself in front of Bunk and Jody...:ninja:;) :D :bassist:

It could just be that there are different cuts done?

I know my ReBop nut has the G a little too close to the edge of the board. Just a slight err in cut??

An amazing Poplar Burl 4LX/EX went up on my local Craigslist about a day after I was paid for my recently sold EBMM 05 Sunburst 4H.

So, obviously, I bought it.

The wife and I have decided to name him Peanut Butter.

Also, I bought Swampy.

Busy week.
