  1. That's awful. Is it a bolt on or neck thru design? If bolt on, maybe look for an aftermarket neck. Could it be converted to a headless bass? Then again, that conversion would probably exceed $800. It'd be a shame to see the bass go to waste.

This is a five string. I'm guessing the 4 string they didn't change much.

  3. Is it possible to order a customized Euro bass? Or are we limited to standard-built stock coming from the Czech factory. For example, I'd like a EURO LX6 EX, with the extended cutaway for access to the 24th fret and finished in Spector's Hi Gloss Bahama Blue.

Before someone mentions it, I'm aware there's a "EURO LX6 EX" in the TB Classifieds, but it's not from the factory. He had a local luthier reshape the cutaway of the lower horn.

You should go to the Spector website and look up the dealer list for the Euro models or use Facebook to contact Jason at Bass Strings On Line (he also has a website) so he can answer what all is allowed.

Getting all packed up for tonight's show at a new casino, we have had 2 in rotation but are including 4 new ones! With 6 clubs in rotation we have cut a few off the list and increased the price per show at each location so naturally some will just select the lower cost while our time is occupied...I don't like to cancel shows but it seems like we are constantly introducing ourselves and getting offers to play and with most casino's booking per season we want to get in and secure the activities. Does anyone else have a show this weekend?

Thanks to everyone for all of the suggestions and tips regarding the broken NS-5. I'm going to do some more investigating to see what's possible.

  7. That's a great suggestion. I was just wondering in general. I have my trusted Spector dealer, Ultimate Basses, to discuss details. I plan an order but not until sometime in 2019. I didn't want to bother him until the time is closer.

I know it's a subtle difference but I like to replace the chrome screws with black ones.

Long story short: all these pickups are supplied with black screws initially. Jimmy replace them with chrome screws for us to replace them with black screws aftermarket :) I’ve gone through it with my couple of USA builds...

    Hey all,
I'm looking to get an opinion on what preamp I should get with an upcoming order to spector.
    I'm looking to get a Forte 4 with emg x p/j's,
And am debating whether it's worth dropping the extra $500 for the HAZ 18v as opposed to getting it with the stock OBP-2 .
    Thoughts?

I owned 5 Forte basses...never felt ok with the stock OBP2. The best match IMO is Darkglass Tone Capsule, very much alike HAZ but with the mids control.

If it's a Spector bass, possibly the D/G pickup should be forward instead of to the rear of the E/A pickup
