Just wanting to get some input which preamp sounds better in Spector basses in your opinion? The Spector TonePump preamp or the Aguilar OBP-1?

According to PJ at Spector, the Aggie is more "hi-fi" and the Tone Pump is more aggressive sounding. I also have heard of people having problems with the Aggie. The voltage doubler is actually in the battery compartment, it hooks directly to the battery. I guess this connection, for whatever reason, can fail. They don't use the Aggie pre-amps anymore. Use "search" and you will find several other threads on this topic. :)

IMO, the tone pump is better. I opted to go to the 3 Band EMG BQC system for the mid range control I was looking for. To each his own.
