Calling all Spector gurus. Does anyone know who makes the bridge for the US and Neck-Thru Spectors? Is it a Spector exclusive, or would it be possible to get one to install on a custom bass?

    Thanks in advance.

yep spector makes their own. I tried to get sum new saddles for mine a while ago, they wouldnt sell me just the saddles, but they would sell me the whole bridge. I emailed them and they were super cool. The link to their email is on the website. I think it was gonna be like $70 or so , i can really remeber, try emailing them, u can definately get one.

I have seen on ebay (the US one) a guy who appears from time to time selling Spector style briudges for about $20 - you get to pick the colour. I'll see if I can find a link!

i really like the clean look the spector bridges have---no visible intonation screw with that ugly spring! hamer's new velocity and velocity II basses have a _very_similar bridge design...not sure who makes them though...

  6. I hear that - I have no idea why those springs bother me, but they always have. Always seemed "cheap looking" to me :) God I love my Spector.

yeah, the spring is ugly...death to the spring! too bad the string spacing on spectors is too uncomfy for me...or at least it has been on the ones i've tried

  8. Too wide or too narrow? I find them perfect for my hands - i play a 5 string.

nino, where did you get a replacement bridge that would fit your "ex" spector.

  11. You know, i actually wish they would offer black hardware on the USA/Czech models, like I have on my Korean one. Not that I can afford either right now, I just dont like gold hardware much.

I actually bought it off of eBay about a year or so ago & was planning to put it on a Czech model but I never had the chance.

BTW, it dosen't fit a Czech model without additional modifications (routing).

Thanks for the offer Nino, but it's going to be a long time before I need one. I'm doing research into building/getting a custom bass. That and I plan on making it a five string. But that bridge looks great.

Thanks for all the info guys.

If you need anything at Spector, call PJ Rubal....his email is pj@spectorbass.com, his number is 703.279.8075. He's the National Product Manager, he can get you anything that Spector makes, and even some studff they don't any more (NOS). I bought a replacement Czech 5-string bridge from him, I think (think being the key word) that it was about $85, so about $75 for a 4 would be my guess.

By the way, that Spector-type bridge on ebay is an utter piece of steamy poo....don't even think about it, for your sake ;)
