Looking to move some basses around. I primarily play 5 string now.

    Spector Euro 4 string
    35" Scale
    Alder Body
    Stock EMG pickups
Upgraded preamp to Mike Pope Pre
Vol/Tone, Blend, Treble, Mid, Bass, Mute swtich, Mid freq switch.

NOTE: When I got this bass it had a crack in the finish near the p pickup. It is hard to notice and doesn't impact the sound at all. Over the 10 years the crack hasn't moved or changed.

I installed the preamp myself roughly 10 years ago and ordered directly from Mike and communicated with him directly on what I was doing.

Overall, this bass is very aggressive sounding from funk, rock, r&b, and country. WIth the mid freq switch you can focus on the bridge pickup and dial in a great jaco tone. I've had this bass for over 10 years with no plan to move it but now primarily playing 5 strings it doesn't see much play.

Only trade I would possibly consider is for a 5 string Pbass.

It basically has been put on steroids imo. I'll see if I can find something.

Looks like a fairly thick burl top. I would not give much or any concern to the crack. Could very easily be just burl being burly. It is not the world's most predictable material. Doesn't stop great luthiers from using it, tough. The body and neck woods viewed from the back look flawless. That would matter more to me than the top.

Bass would be well worth the selling price even with the stock preamp. A great value with the Pope installed.

  11. Unbelievable! I was the first owner of this bass! When I had it I put a EMG active preamp system in it (I think it was the BQC). Bet it sounds great with the Pope! Wish I could buy it back. Good luck with the sale!

By the way, the crack looks like it hasn't changed since I owned it. It's just a crack in the poly finish.

  14. Just wanted to state for the record how great the seller was to deal with. The bass is exactly as described and even more stunning than photos could possibly show. Here's an updated family portrait:
