So I was at Sam Ash in New York City the other day and one of the guys working there told me not to slap on the bass because the nickle frets are delicate and wear easily. The bass was a Spector 4-string neck through European series bass. Is it true that these basses are made with nickle frets and more importantly is it true that they wear very easily and should be slapped on?

    Thanks,
    Tim

Hold on I have a typo. The last sentence should read that "is it true that these basses should NOT be slapped on."

Spector even CZ made are good basses, and I don't think this range of basses aren't made for players with some technique such slappin' poppin' and so on...

    This guy bull****ed you ...
