I was thinking I might like to pick one of these up, either as a Fretless, or make it a piccolo bass. because of the Semi-hollow body and the Piezo bridge. Anyone have any direct experience?
I got the chance to play one..... Don't expect the wallop of spector tone, more like, a spoonfull, with some pizeo kicked in. It sounded really cool, I think it's a very awesome bass for the money.
Played a 4. I like the idea of passive magnetic along with piezo, but then again, I had an Ibanez EDA with the same kind of EQ, so I knew what to expect. The piezo can really help bring out the acoustic character, and underneath it all is still the ability to be a poassive workhorse. At under $600US it's quite an instrument. I shall have one soon, and add the usual Hipshot Xtender and Dunlop Straplock IIs.
I play a Rebop5, I tried this bass out and did not like the tone. It sounded tinny to me. I like the idea of a hollow body. I bet if it had two active EMG's in it I would like it a lot.
