Spector Holoflash question

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by 5thstringer, Nov 23, 2002.

  1. I'm considering a Spector NS2000Q5 as a backup and as I haven't seen one in a showroom I need to get some observations from fellow TBers as to what the Holoflash finish looks like in normal (off-stage) lighting. Does it look like a regular opaque gloss finish or what? I need some opinions!!

The pictures on the web seem to have a lot of flash or bright lighting which seems to make the holoflash appear to be "full on". In person under normal lighting it's more laid back with highlights that are about like the pictures, but also a lot more darker areas--all of these appear to move and change color as the lighting changes or you move the bass around. I personally don't think it's as impressive in person as the site would lead you to believe. Do a search on the web for chroma-lusion paint (used on vehicles) to see this effect at its best.
