I just got the old spector legend 4 string with the active emg-hz p/j split pickups. This is my first p-bass and it took my ears a little bit to get used to the sound. I really love the tone and the lows arent to low the mids are real strong and the highs sound great. Overall the sound coming out of this thing is unbelievable. Its awesome. Now the sound is great and all but this bass is probably the most playable bass ive ever played. It has action all the way down with no fret buzz. The neck is thin and so smooth. Its almost unbelievable how easy this thing is to play. It looks excellent and i absolutely love. It i would highly recommend this to anyone.

I traded my trace elliot 15" commando combo amp for this and i feel i got a steal.

Unfortunately i no longer think so highly of my essex. The thing ways 12 pounds compared to the spectors 8. The action cant go half as low. The tone is still great but thats the only thing i still actually really like about it(It's modded with warwick mec's). :(
