    I'm selling my Spector NS-2 Spalted Maple top, because I recently got two Kramer Era Spector NS-2 basses. I bough it about five months ago, and it doesn't appear that it was played very much. The signature date is 09/17/09, but it looks like it's only a few months old, and it's in excellent condition. The frets are in excellent condition, with very little to no wear. It has been professionally set up, and has low action without any fret buzz. The preamp controls do not have any static. It comes with it's original Spector hard shell case, which has some scuffs. But, it's solid and no problems with the hardware. A leather strap is included. The weight is 8 lb 14 oz.

    $3000.00 includes shipping to the 48 states. No trades, or offers.

    The 2018 Street MAP pricing for a bass like this is $5898.00.

    Jack has been collecting the Spector brand and knows how to take care of his instruments, this would make someone a great NS2!

    I had someone that questioned whether the back of the body is maple. I asked PJ Rubal, with Spector, about this, and this is his reply ;

    hello -

    thanks for the emails & photos, it is always good to hear from you.

    great looking bass. I seem to remember it from when it was in process/new!

    our serial number records do not indicate its back wood.
    it appears to be maple, and we were not using ash at that time. so maple it is :)

    the bass was made for a friend of ours at a logging company which no longer exists.
    this also confirms that it is maple as he would have wanted some wood from his company in his bass
    and this is a detail I seem to remember from almost ten years ago.

    thanks for keeping in touch & have a great rest of the week,
    PJ

  6. Man, why you gotta do me like this? The fact that it's not a DW neck is all I got going for me. But I've never seen or felt one in years, I wouldn't mind kicking the tires. ;)
