Just a blend control is rare. Some are going to want an explanation as to why it's like that and what it does. Dont see many if any of these around......

I bought it that way from Sam Ash. As far as what it does. It's a blend control simple and easy. I got the info from Spector on the bass. It was a custom build for someone from Sam Ash in 2002.
I would imagine the person ordered it like that and relied on a floor system for tone and volume controls....Maybe had a few pre amps and switched them around and did not need the extra EQ on the bass....
I have noticed a few guitars like that in the past.
Anyhow.... You can get the EMG pre amp on Spector's site for $199. It would be pretty easy to install. The EMG system clips together. Cool.....
If it does not sell. I'll end up doing it. Kind of need money right now.

If you are serious and need a picture let me know.

Installing the new preamp I noticed the pickups are EMG 45J's

  9. That is a very cool bass! I really like the simple control layout. I am just curious to know how that works with no volume. Is the bass at full blast when you plug it in? Do you use a volume pedal to play the bass at shows or what? You could actually use a stacked vol/blend pot with a 25k value and it would work great.
