  1. Spector NS2000 Q6 or Dean Edge Q6
These are two fairly similar basses,

I swing towards the Dean cause it has a laminated neck, but I spose in the end it comes down to playibility

Also are the BTB406's better than these two basses, and for what reasons

So, bring it on, who's played em?

I've played only the Dean Edge 6 but I've played the 5 string version of all these basses.

Personally, I liked the sound of the Ibanez best of the three. It was nice & full & warm. The neck felt alittle chunky & the body was pretty wide. All things that you can get used to.

I liked the neck on the Spector & I feel that that bass played the best. The Spector & the Dean are very close. They're made in the same factory overseas. They use the same neck & body woods, same pick-up's & electronics. I feel that the Spector has a slight edge in playability. Dollor for dollar, you'd probably be better off w/the Dean but I found the Spector to be more comfortable.

The BTB has the best B string, and the Dean has by far the worst.

The BTB also has the best electronics. But the neck on it is bigger, so it may be a problem if you like thin necks.

Are the Czech Spectors also made in the same factory as the Czech Deans?

  8. another thing that will affect my choice is that the spector and ibanez will have to come from overseas (probly bass northwest less you have a better idea) and the dean can come from a luthier guy's shop in my local town where I'd pick it up a bit cheaper than ordering the spector, and cheaper again than the Ibanez

The only other places I could get the Ibanez and Spector from is a shop up in Sydney, and lets just say their prices are bulls**t
