Spector NS2002B

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Flea Claydirnt, Apr 18, 2001.

  1. Whats the general opinion on this bass. I became interested in Spector because of this forum and this bass is pretty cheap. I know it is passive and I would prefer an active preamp but if it sounds good it sounds good. I also read that these basses may sound different from one to the other, is there any merit to this.

Every bass might soung different from one to the other, usually because the density of the wood is different. The NS-2002B are nice. I like the sound of the EMG-HZ's better than pickups in other passive basses in that price range, i.e. MIM fender P or J, Yamaha BB4N, etc. I've played a few & they all sounded good. I think it's a good start if you want a Spector but you don't have alot of bread!!!!
  3. thank nino. I think I definately will have to find a Spector dealer in my area and not blindly order one.
I do beleive I might get one over a jazz bass or p bass but we'll see. I might save up for an active model but I don't know.
