I was thinking about getting the spector ns2002b bass for my birthday and was wondering from anybody who has played one if they are any good. I havent had the chance to play one because I dont own a vehicle yet and the only music store around me that has them is too far away to walk.
Welcome to TalkBass!!!!! The Spector NS-2002B is a nice intro bass to the Spector Family. I don't know how much bass playing experience & money you have but I would recomend you saving some money to get either the NS-2000 4Q bolt on or the NS-2000 4 neck through. MUCH better basses!!!!!! Click here to see the Bolt On Click here to see the Neck Thru If you have about $1300 to spend, get the European NS-4 CR. HAnds down, better than any other bass you'll every play under $2000.
Indeed... Czech Spectors are absolutely awesome! I just got a Czech 5 about and month ago, and I can say that I will only buy another bass under a few conditions: 1.) I decide to try fretless 2.) I decide to play 6+ more strings 3.) I can afford a USA Spector or Sadowsky This Czech Spector is the exact bass I've been looking for! It does heavy rock and funky sounds extremely well (actually the funk was rather surprising to me). Start saving up for that Czech Spector! Although more on-topic, I would look into saving for the neck thru Nino suggested. I think it's a better bass overall.
