Spector Tone Pump Change?

    Good evening: I have a Spector Rebop 5 that I use as my 5 string, it has the 2 volumes and Bass & Treble. I much prefer to have a volume and a blend as I am not the best at sound ajustment. What would be the best route to go and keep the stock pu's as money is an issue. I had thought about getting a Bartolini 3 band system with stcked treble and bass. My bass has the EMG HZ pu's. Will there actually be a passive and active mode using the EMG's? Anyway this is my first post and tought what da heck, hopfully someone can give me some insight...Thanks....Dave (cashhere)

    If this is anything like my old spector, you would have to completely replace the preamp as the control pots go directly to the pre and not like other instruments where it would be pups->blend->vol->pre. Your current pickups are passive and all other EMGs are active (HZ are the only passive in their current lineup). Any preamp for passive pickups should work fine, Seymour Duncan, Aguilar, Bart, etc.

    Thanks, I spoke with Spector this week and they sent me a wiring schematic to change the bridge volume to a blend, that was the only issue I had with the electronics, as I love the sound...Dave C.

    on my rebop i thought it was volume volume tone and the control for the tone pump.....
