Recently, Spector basses have caught my eye. I was wondering how everyone would describe the tone. There's none immediately availible in my area, so I can't play one. I'm thinking a Euro 4 stringer here.

If these sound like I've heard a few people describe them, they could be just the tone I'm looking for. Bassy, but defined and punchy.

The Euro 4 is indeed both bassy and punchy. If I was to describe the sound, it´s got good growl, enough bass and enough treble (you´ll need to cut) -and of course the "Spector ring" piano-like tone.

The tone also depends on witch preamp it has.
The one with the Tone Pump i´d say has the best allround sound.
