Hmm....I really don't want to sell this, but charged a new lawn tractor on my credit card this week, and am thinking I'd rather those stay at zero....so we'll give this a shot.

Late 80's Kramer Spector NS-2, oil finish, Haz Labs pre, all original sans the gold knobs someone put on. Has a couple dings here and there, but plays perfectly. I'd rate this one VGC, expecially considering the age. The most noticeable is the finish wear at the thumb rest area on the p pickup. Some steel wool and oil, it it should look fine. Comes with Spector hard case.

Any questions? May consider a Euro plus cash as well. You know you're getting old when you sell boutique basses in favor of lawn equipment :rollno:

    $1500

    351.

  2. Bump for a good deal and beautiful bass.

Side note: I'm currently Fred Shafer's bassist. We've played Nino's in Findlay several times. We're currently in South Korea. We're playing Nino's as soon as we get back on June 5th.

Ahh yes...I've spoke with you there. I play with Nino's band. Good seeing you on here!

  4. Tempting...open to cash offers? Where's Findlay in relation to the Youngstown/Poland area? I have family there.

    Absolutely...

I am about 3 hours west of y-town, but get out that way pretty frequently for work.

  6. So you probably see my grandmother more often than I do. :bag:
Can you post more pics? Thanks.

Are you sure about the age of this bass? I've never seen a Kramer-era Spector Made in the US that had dots on the fingerboard. Is is possible that this is a little older and was made in the early 80's in the original Spector shop? I think the transition happened around S/N 1200 if I remember right.

The oil finished models towards the end of Kramer came with dot necks.

  10. The model is NS-2 O, which designates oil finish. There aren't a ton of them out there, but Tim's is the second I've seen on the market this spring.

    How much for the cat?

Can you throw in those two bottles of Everclear and the Jack Daniels?

He'll sell you the Jack cheap. I know for a fact Tim's too big of a wuss to drink whiskey. He's a jager bomb girl. :)

Oh ya, bump for an AWESOME bass.

I had one of these, and they are fantastic basses, I like them better than the standard gloss finish NS' of the same vintage (YMMV).
The previous owner of mine told me that Kramer farmed out the manufacture of the bodies and necks to an unspecified Canadian builder for the NS-2o's, which were then shipped back to Neptune, N.J. for assembly. Might be a myth, but, with Kramer back in the day, you never know....lots of weirdness happening back then, between trying to keep up with orders and keep away from creditors.

Free bump for the bass, and the cat, too.

Wow, I've never heard that one, but like you said nothing is too surprising from the end of Kramer. The cat (Gene) has to inspect anything that is new, or comes out of a box. I took it out of its case, and he was there for the shakedown...so he got in the pics too.

Doing the bump, and dropping the price to 1500.....

  20. Bump from a new NS-2-O owner. Take a close look at this if your looking for a Kramer era Spector, especially if you like natural wood.
