Spectrum Analyzer/Oscilliscope

    I'm wondering if anyone knows of any software that allows me to see the actual wavelength frequency a bass note makes

    E.G. I want to see the actual sound curve of a ringing open A.
    I'm curious because I want to see empirically how my pedals (graphic EQ, compression, and distortion) affect the signal.

    I could certainly drop a lot of money on an oscilloscope, but that's a little much :meh:

    ableton live 8 (and 7 maybe?) has a built in one that you can drag onto any track. i think they give away lite versions with lots of products. maybe you can find the lite version for super cheap somewhere on it's own.

    it's a little small in the track view, but you can click a little arrow and unfold it for a larger view.

    good luck (and i don't think oscilloscopes do that)
     
  4. Heads up.Im sure you know this already..watch what you download from free sites...some of the stuff is loaded with viruses and such...
