I'm building a lite-weight P type bass, and would like to try the Sprezels this time (I usually use Hipshot Ultra lites). Has anyone used heavy flats with Sperzel tuners? Results?

Hey Eleonn, I'm with you on that call, but I just got my alder blanks from Larry last night. I haven't even purchased the neck blanks, frets, hrdwr and.......;)

the shop i work in has stopped using sperzel tuners because so many of them didnt work. the hipshot ultralite tuners are way better in my opinion.

when we put the sperzels on we would tune the string to pitch but before it got there we heard a little click and the tuner wouldnt go any farther. you could turn and turn and nothing would happen.

it wasnt a tuner or two either. we have a box of bad sperzels. they are a real nice looking tuner and are light weight which is cool but its not worth the time putting an unreliable tuner on your new bass.

Did anyone let them know? I'm sure there's a warranty on the hardware.
