Here are the guts(!) of a 2004 Spirocore Mittel Long E/C, layer by layer:
Each photo shows a layer of wrapped wire, except the last photo (#7), which shows the final 2 layers -
a very tight (and stiff) 7-strand layer, wrapped very tightly around the final, stiff, (inner-most) 3-strand twisted core.
    Enjoy!

I'm having an issue seeing the photos. Was the string not playable anymore or did curiousity get the best of you?

Hi - Sorry. I was having technical issues. They should be there now. (hit the refresh button???).
I change my strings about every 1.5 - 2 years - this was just in the old string drawer and curiosity got the better of me.
    Thanks.

And, you know that hair on the middle knuckles is recessive?

I don't even know what that means. Now, back on my tire-swing for a delicious banana!

Way cool! Thanks for posting! I'll have to look for different evidence that Don's recessive!

"Recessive Compulsive"? Is this even in the DSM-5?

thanks for posting this. I was just about to cut my 6 month old Spiro mittel E cause I couldn't resist the urge to know how it was in there. Now I can keep it on my bass for another 15 years :D

  15. Wow, I had no idea it was so "complicated". I will do the same with my Lenzner unwrapped guts later today.

Are you sure you don't mean "Kardashian Disorder"?

Hey, I didn't find anything either. Maybe Tom meant "Kasparov Disorder"? I don't know what any of these things are, but I've got a check up scheduled for Monday morning to make sure I don't have them.

My FIL is BIG into Homeopathy. If you want I can steer you into a truly mysterious world. The sites are mostly in German, though. We're talking brass orbs and oscilloscopes and stuff here. I keep my mouth zipped up tight when I visit.
