I had two pick guards made for me by [email protected] for two of my custom J basses. I couldn't have been happier with the outcome! Thought I would share a few pics of the finished product!!
Nice!!!! I wish I could get my heart and mind behind spending that much on a pickguard. But even if I can't bring myself to spring for one of my own, that doesn't stop me from admiring them on somebody else's instrument. Maybe someday.
Wow! Stunning work as ever from Mark! I spoke to him a while back regarding a custom Musicman plate, but unfortunately in the end it wasn't going to work out for my custom bass. All the while though he treated me exceptionally well and tried very hard to resolve all the possible issues my custom bass had. He even gave me some helpful advice regarding a paint issue I had! I still hope one day to get one of his pickguards for my 'more normal' Jazzes and Precision's. The red / burgundy tort looks lovely. Peace, Rob.
Nice, who built your jazz basses ? love the opaque white and that 2 tone burst is classy, the spitfire guard is a perfect accent, bout as close to the originals as you can get.
Both basses are hand built by Gil Yaron. The blonde Jazz is my favourite bass I own. It plays and sounds as good as it looks.
Vintage bright red, speckled 60's, extra light relic. I voiced to Mark what I was hoping for with pattern and colour tones as they can still vary from guard to guard even with the same specs.
Hey there- can you disclose the specs on your guards? Burgundy, speckled 60s, light relic, etc.? Thanks! I'm looking to buy one so just trying to get as clear a pic as possible
^ i'm with you! maybe we're lucky in some way! edit: OP: they look great! the instruments are very nice, too! congrats!
I had Spitfire make the Precision tort guard in my signature pic. It's a Speckled 60s style & the color is in between his "burgundy" & "dark". I love it on this bass, and ordering it was a smooth process. On the topic of vintage tort, has anyone checked out the Torlam guards from Montreaux guitars? They look like they're high quality judging from the few pics on their site: Products | Montreux
