Those of you who are familiar with Spitfire's many gradations of tort pickguards - which of the choices would you say best corresponds with this guard?
I have an American Original P in Olympic White. It's a terrific bass and comes very close to pre-CBS in terms of feel, but I have to say the pick guard, which veers toward brownish-dark doesn't ring any vintage vibe bells for me. Need to bring in some of that good red.
I have the Vintage Burgundy / Vintage Red Mix on my Fender Jazz 5 Parts Bass That’s pretty close to my actual Pre CBS guard
YES - the burgundy/red mix on bass #1 is the thing I'm seeking - guessing that's the 'speckled '60s' option?
Makes sense. What video is that shot from at the top of the thread? It doesn't look like the best light, so it might be best to track down some more photos of that bass.
Spitfire rock . I have 4 of them , welp selling 2 here real soon . One of them going up is a " faded orange " aged . hit me if you want it , it's not yet listed . The other is Black . I'll do a bro deal since I infiltrated this thread . 13 hole , tug bar and cover holes
Delano JMVC pickups + Sadowsky Preamp = my #1 poison of choice!! Really simple to dial in a whole spectrum of classic tones.
