I was looking through the Ampeg web site and saw that the SVT810E had a 130 db spl. I've seen other postings were some cabs have spl ratings of 96 (SWR Triad?). Why would a manufacturer create an inefficent cab like this? Or is Ampeg inflated?

    Those are two different measurements.

The Ampeg's 130dB rating is the maximum(!) SPL rating.

The SWR rating is the sensitivity rating, which rates the SPL @1W power and 1 meter distance.

That Ampeg's sentitivity is 100 dB.

So it's more 96 dB versus 100 dB, although you'd have to know how exactly those measurements were made to really compare them. Every company does it a little differently and rates either more optimistic or conservatively.
