SPL

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by bassboysam, May 12, 2005.

  1. 102db@1w/1m for a max SPL around 130db. Aprox 600w

Would this be considered an efficient cab?

If that's an average sensitivity measured over the bandwidth of the speaker, than yes. If it's a bass cab, and measured at 1kHz, it doesn't tell you a whole lot.

    So, maybe? Probably?

As Ben said, maybe. 102dB sensitivity at 80 Hz would be excellent, at 160Hz good for guitar only. Sensitivity without being referenced to frequency, at the very least quoting the f3, doesn't tell you anything.

    102dB SPL@1W1M

wat does the "1w1m" part mean?
and does a 1db difference make a big difference?

    1W(att) 1M(eter), and 1dB is virtually inaudible.
