I have an older set of EMG PJ pickups and have a new PJ solderless wiring harness.

I have thought about soldering to the pickup but thought it might be easier to manage if i spliced the old pickup to the new harness.

I'm wondering what you guys recommend for splicing shielded cable? Should i solder the shields on a pot and twist the wire together cover with shrink?

I'm also open to totally different ideas about what i should be doing.

After watching about 10 YouTube videos and doing some searching... I'm done. Bass sounds great. Seems like I just needed a basic education in soldering.
