I'm looking to split the mono output of my pedalboard into a 1/4" for my amp and a xlr to DI into a PA without losing power and tone. I'd like to not use an ABY switch pedal, rather wire the outputs to the frame of the board. If there is a 1/4" male split to 1/4" male/female and xlr male/female would that just solve my problems?
Most DI boxes and preamps will have a paralell out 1/4" out and an XLR out so that should be no problem with phase or signal loss even with a simple passive DI. That is actually exactly what they were designed for, no need to reinvent.
I'm not trying to reinvent anything, I just don't want another box on my pedal board. Let me restate my question, any diagrams for a male 1/4 to female 1/4 + male xlr or DI box that I can substitute the input jack for a male 1/4 cable?
You can always take the guts out of the passive DI and solder it direct to whatever you want. Normally it is just a transformer inside the passive DI units. Why can't you put the DI by your amp and not the pedal board?
