I just picked up a greatest hits CD at the library and absolutely loving it. Great vocals and some awesome bass-lines. I've been working out Tempted....it's awesome. Sounds simple bit there are some great subtleties built in. Anyone else really dig these guys? If so what are some of your favorite songs/albums?

Oh, yeah! Squeeze is one of my all-time favorite bands. Been listening to them since Cool For Cats.

A few months back I did the same thing you are doing. I went through their Greatest Hits and started learning them one-by-one.

Can't say that I have a favorite, but I like Annie Get Your Gun, Pulling Mussels ..., Black Coffee In Bed, Cool For Cats, and Slap & Tickle. Oh, and of course, Tempted.

"Hourglass" was the song that came out right when I graduated from high school, and that's my fav Squeeze tune.
Nice to see others like and learn them as well.

Same here. I think it's one one of the greatest pop songs of the 80s (if not of all time).

Another great Squeeze song (and bass line) is "Black Coffee in Bed". And wow, what a killer guitar solo, too. And listen to those background vocals. No auto tune and it's still a great song!

Do you have thoughts on the remaster vs. the original?

I've never heard the remaster, so I'm unable to help.
Would have liked to have seen them live in their heyday:

Funny you should say that, the remaster has a whole bunch of live tracks with it.

    +100. All time favs!

  17. They were a great band, I got to see them once in 81. I loved those tunes. I thought Glenn guitar solos were the most melodic in rock. The bass lines were tasty
