Wrapping my head round this topic.
The pups in the Squier deluxe active Jazz basses are Lo-z or Hi-z ??
It's hard to tell from the volume pot cause the stamp must be on the side for it's resistance value.

Had found a good price on some Dimarzio Model J's . Was gonna swap out the pups in my Sq Jazz bass active BUT Dimarzios are all Hi-z bass pups.
They do not make any lo -z for active elcts.

So if the anyone knows for sure that Squier actives are Lo Z pups let me know. And if ya know who built that active circuit that's be much appreciated as well as any opinions on it.
I like the sound but have put Dimarzios in every bass I ever owned 'cept for the Wal ( no need there , of course!)
