I don't know if this is the right forum for this but whatever. I have a MIM P bass and it has a rosewood fretboard but I really want a maple.

My buddy has a Squier 2 with a maple neck and IT LOOKS PRETTY NICE TO BE A SQUIER. But I was wondering....

    1. He wants to sell it for $80.. is it worth it?

    2. Are these good quality, durable necks?

    3. Will it fit? And if so.. am I looking to get another set up?

I'm not familiar with the Squier II basses, as long as it is the same scale as the bass you plan to put it on I don't see why it wouldn't work.
As for it physically fitting in the neck pocket of your bass you'll have to size it up with a ruler.
Some would argue with me on this but as far as quality is concerned the Korean made Squiers have a price tag which is quite small, plenty of folks are happy with an inexpensive instrument. But for many it's a matter of "you get what you pay for", and the "just get the job done" Korean made Squier becomes inferior in quality to the higher priced basses.
I've seen the MIK Squiers go used for around $100, so $80 for a neck is a bit steep IMO.
Once you get everything to fit properly, you should get a setup on your bass.
