Squier Neck Stability

Discussion in 'Luthier's Corner' started by thobbinghotrod, Sep 4, 2008.

  1. I have a Squier VM Tele bass that I want to get a professional setup on.

My only worry is how many squier necks were hanging on the shop wall where I bought it. Their tech said he had replaced a few recently. (looked like 4 necks hanging there)

Well my neck is still fantastic except for a high fret that causes a little rattling. I bought it new six months ago.

Has my neck settled enough to warrant spending some money on?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. You can deal with ONE high fret.

I've seen a few bad Squier necks, but most are good.

Even brand new US Fenders can stand a proper fret leveling. So just have it set up and have the high frets taken care of.
