First bass I ever bought was a red Squire p-bass 16 years ago. I just upgraded to a Fender Jazz.

  4. My first bass was a Squire Bullet Bass. My second bass was a Squire P-bass. When I had the bullet I knew very little about setting up a bass (intonation, etc.), so although I loved that bass to death and played the heck out of it, it never sounded as good as it could have. My P-bass though - after a thorough setup - sounds so nice.

Here's my Squier P-Bass special. Upgraded to Gotoh bridge, EMG pickups, Schaller tuners, and since this picture was taken, an Allparts maple neck with pearloid block inlays. It's a very reliable backup, and actually the bass I play the most around the house.

That pic has EMG's, but now I have an American P pickup, with an S-1 switch.

  16. Until i bought my daughter one of these to keep her off my miller, I always pictured squires not so good. This bass is made really well and sounds fat like a P.

Would honestly consider buying one of these to hot rod.

She's 3 1/2 and already has the bass bug. Thank god.....

    Yeah, Get over it.

I have a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz bass. Simply incredible, especially for the price! Makes my old Vintage jazz bass feel and sound like crap!

  19. Isn't it funny how dudes measure by equipment. I know plenty of players who have million dollar gear and can't play. I do know one guy who plays guitar (a squire strat with changed pups) and is one of the best guitar players i've ever heard. No $4000 gibson or a strat and yet he puts most to shame.

Yeh to those who are brave enough to enjoy and apreciate gear that isn't MIA. I play the MIA's but there's nothing wrong with squire.

    Each to their own.
