    These are Chinese made and from the looks of it this appears to be alder. Has a paint chip off the the side (by the arm contour and next to the belly cut) which is how I was able to confirm that this is indeed an alder body. This would be a great candidate for a neck that has not been drilled yet, the mounts are a little different when compared to a standard Fender neckplate.
