Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass (P/J pickups, regular scale)

Does anyone know what these basses listed for when they were still available?

A friend has a classic sunburst model that is in almost new condition and I have a chance to buy it. Honestly it's one of the nicest basses I've ever played and I've played and I've owned and played a lot of high-end basses. It's unbelievable that a bass this cheap sounds so good. I might eventually upgrade to Bartolini P/J pickups and pre-amp. But for now it works for everything I need it to do. I would not be ashamed to play it at a professional gig.
