Has any one tried to bypass the active bass boost? I wanna rig an on off switch for it. I have an idea that might work but I'm curious if anyone else has had any luck with this.

I did. I just wired it like a regular jazz bass, removing the boost knob altogether. I put a second plug socket there, and left the original wired in. Sounds much better without that bass boots.

Those stock pickups are nice. I still wanna keep it but I only like it turned up a touch. I wanna just tuck the whole knob in the cavity and put an on off switch in it's place. Just leave the pot set to where I like it

By sounds better do you mean you just didn't like the boost or does it just being wired in actually affect the tone? Even if it's turned down all the way.
