I watched the CMA Awards last night and at least 4 or 5 of the bass players that performed last night were using Sting Ray 5's! The Fender Jazz Bass got a few votes and so did a Sadowsky and a Lakland if my eyes were correct. I use my Sting Ray 5 for lots of different styles in the Army Band, and I must say that is does do a nice job on the country tunes too.

I watch the Grand Ole Opry almost every Saturday night. I would say that probably half the players on there are using SR5s. Lakland would take up the another 25 percent. The rest would be split between fender and other.

SR5s are playable and sound great, and since most country today is really rock, its popularity in country shouldn't be that much of a surprise.

I wonder if EBMM made a push to extend endorsements into country? I ask that because it seems that I see many more of their guitars in country than I do anywhere else.
