I need some help. What would be the best quality head and cab that I could buy for a total price of 1,500 dollars at the most. Of course I want them to be ampeg though my brand of choice. I know I might have to spend a bit more but what would be good in that price range?

ampeg 8x10's can be had for very affordable prices...

i would get a carvin dcm1000( or higher ) and possibly an ampeg svp-pro.. which have gone on eBay for as little as $325.

  3. Take your $1,500 and go to a store (or several stores, if possible) and play everything they have...bring your bass and use it to test the amps and make up your own mind. You should be able to score an excellent quality new stack for that kind of money like an SVT3PRO and a 4 X 10" cabinet. If you are open to used gear, you should be able to get something even better/more powerful.

and use your bass through the amp and cab
