A search didn't give me the info that I'm looking for.

I bought a pawn shop bass with what I believe are Rotosound RS66 strings. I can't tell if they are SS or nickel. They have a white-ish color to them as opposed to gray-ish. What do you think?

Steels are a little more blue-grey in colour than nickels

What color silk is on them.

If they are Rotosound then red silk will be stainless... Aqua blue for nickel

    Red silk.

What other possibilities would red silk be? I'm mostly guessing on brand.

post a pic of the headstock. ghs and labella use red silk as well. a pic of the strings and how the wraps taper off could help indicate which string they are.

    Not the point.

I like these strings and wanted to know what they are. Appears to be Rotosound SS.
