This is a really beautiful example of Chris Stambaugh's luthiery skills. It is light, balances perfectly on a strap, has very low action, sounds great, and is lots of fun to play. The specs are as follows; - 34" scale - Neck is maple/wenge/bubinga/wenge/maple neck thru - Fretboard is purpleheart w/ bass clef inlay - Body is mahogany - Top is burled maple (nice piece!!) - Aguilar pre-amp - 3 band eq with midrange select switch - ABS bridge 16.5mm spacing / RMC bridge saddles - Roland on board system w/ 13 pin output - Bartolini dual coil classic pickup As noted above the bass does have the Roland Midi system with 13 pin output but it is not currently tracking properly. I had planned to get a Roland GR-55 but my gigs have taken me almost entirely into the Double Bass realm so that has not materialized. Because of that I have had no way to test or use the onboard midi. So I am pricing this bass as if it did not have that capability. The Bartolini dual coil and Aguilar pre combo sounds and functions great. If the buyer wants the midi I am sure they can send the bass to Chris and he can restore that function. He could also restore the bridge to its original 17.5mm string spacing if that is desired. And now here are some pictures, the first is with the ramp Chris made for it;
This would make a really nice Christmas present; functional art that is not only a one of a kind master built instrument but also sounds and plays incredible!
