...found on a german site.
It's he first "one pickup" MTD I've ever seen!
Whoa! You should forward this pic to Mike and get some info on it.
Very cool. Call me kooky but I see two pickups. (Could it be the mystery mushrooms?)
I was going to mention 2 p'ups but, I wasn't 100% sure.
one way or the other, it is pretty weird...
Sorry, but I do not see a second pickup!
To me, the basse features one pickup and a two piece bridge with the tailpiece made of wood.
I found another cool site today:
Some interestiing J type basses under the Bacchus brand ;-)
That is one gorgeous babe!
he made one similar at namm with just a p pickup. that was a blues monster!
What's the scale length on that one? The bridge is so far down it looks like it should be on another instrument.
i see 2 pups- but im old and did a lot of chemicals way back when...
ive seen them with a bridge that was actually a pup- he made a few of these- maybe its an Eclipse- i have played a fretless with this configuration- sounded great, like an upright.. almost.
Cool! Either way I like the looks of it. Nice combination of woods.
i'm with jp, guys. if you look at the low b, it looks like the taper ends right past the middle of the 2nd "pickup", which would not be the case if that were a pickup. i'd say that's a 2 piece bridge with a single pickup.
could be , JT and JP_ someone should email him this and ask- i would but every time i speak to Mike it costs me a few of thousands!!!
I like it. A lot.
Yep, I've noticed that too...
I've just e-mailed Mike....you'r safe Adrian!
so the tapered part of the string isn't supposed to make contact with the saddle?
or is it that the mass is too low for there to be a good output for the pickup to pick up?
Looks like a single pickup to me as well. I don't see whats so weird about a fretless bass with a single bridge pickup and piezo's though. In fact I thought that is fairly "common." Maybe it's just an MTD thing...
Ditto. If there's a 2nd "pickup", it would be piezos bridge saddles (IMO).
If you look at the "second pickup", there are some dark lines going across the strings that look like saddles - most obvious on G and D strings.
